Pomegranate is one of the first plants human started to use. Asia is the birthplace of pomegranate. This fruit was called “the king of fruit” in its birthplace in Middle East. The main global pomegranate importers are Egypt, Turkey, Israel & Spain. This fruit is also shipped in Russia from Central Asia countries (Uzbekistan, Tadjikistan, Azerbaijan).

We offer fruit from Egypt, Israel & Peru to our consumers. Pomegranate from Israel & Egypt are available since August till March. The fruit from Peru are available in March & April.

Varieties:

More than 400 varieties exist all over the world. The best of than are considered to be Persian varieties Asmar, Sharody. More than half of all acreage in USA are occupied by Wonderful variety (one of the seedless types). This variety is one of the most popular in the world. It’s grown also in Egypt & other Asian counties.

There are three types of varieties by their acid content:

Country of Origin:

Egypt. According to Egypt Government, the acreage of pomegranate orchards in central province Asyut of Upper Egypt increases 10000 faddans (1 faddan = 4,2 square meters). It is the highest planting concentration in the world & makes this crop the strategic for Egypt. Upper Egypt is the strategic region, where the pomegranate produce is concentrated. In addition to the so famous variety as Wonderful, Egypt grows another well-known type – Baladi.

Israel. Fruit from Israel are available from August till February. The Wonderful variety with dark-red pulp is the late one. It is available since the late October till March.

Peru. The season comes in spring, since March till April. The main variety is also Wonderful.
