The Deputy Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut announced the authorities’ opinion on ceremony, devoted to the launch of the next stage of “Russian Wine Days”.

The Minselkhoz of Russia forecasts the rise up to the 549 thousand tons in the current year, what will surpass of 3,5% the last year volume. The grapes crop growth will have positive effect on the local wine production. The Deputy Minister thinks the positive trend in establishing of new vineyards caused the forecast. “Last year 5 thousand hectares were established, so on the basis of the regions plans this acreage should reach 6,5 thousand hectares this year,” – Oksana Lut said.

The Southern Federal District is the leader in grapes planting. It produced more than 57% of total grapes crop in 2017 according to the Russian Statistics Agency. The North Caucasian Federal District ranks the second by volume. The total share of these districts makes 96% of Russian grapes crop.
