Sweetie is one of the grapefruit types. It is the hybrid of pomelo & grapefruit with white, juicy & sweet pulp. The best features of “close relatives”, such as the juiciness of grapefruit & sweetness of pomelo, are retained in this fruit. Sweetie ripens from March till September, so it is available for supplies from April till October.

Israel is the main exporter of this fruit to Russia. The most popular fruit brand is JAFFA. Products from Israel are represented in Royal Fruit range.

Varieties:

There are more than 20 varieties of this fruit, which are divided into two types depending on pulp color:

  • White varieties have the yellowish pulp. They are: Duncan, White grapefruit, Oroblanco, March. Sweeties belong to the white grapefruit varieties.
  • Red varieties have juicy, scarlet pulp, for example: Ruby & Flame.

Country of Origin:

Israel. In 2013 the share of Israel producers amounted nearly 10% of total Russian grapefruit import with pomelo & sweetie included. Pomelo & sweetie are grapefruit close relatives. Main Israel exporting varieties are March, Sunrise red, Sweetie.
